THE ORGANIZER

Mara Chernin is a professional organizer and project manager specializing in home organizing and space optimization. With extensive experience in startups, retail, and international business development partnerships, Mara blends business acumen with creative design to assist clients in crafting functional, inspiring spaces. After achieving success with her organizing business in Boston, she is excited to extend her expertise to Grand Cayman.

Having called the Cayman Islands home away from home for over 18 years, Mara has gained vital perspectives on its growth while staying actively engaged with the community.

She holds a BA from Elon University, an MBA from Babson College, and an interior design certification from the New York Institute of Art and Design, enabling her to merge strategy with aesthetics seamlessly.

Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that an organized space fosters well-being, peace of mind, and a sense of control, ultimately leading to a more positive energy and outlook.

Mara’s process is both collaborative and empowering. Renowned for her adaptability and efficiency, she works closely with clients to meet their unique needs, whether through home projects, move management, space planning, coaching, or full transformations of residential and commercial environments.

Do I need to be there when you declutter or organize?

Short answer, No. I will always begin with a conversation about the parameters of the decision making and a walk through of your project and space(s). Ultimately it is up to the client and how much autonomy you would like to give Organize Cayman.

Can you help me with a closet clean-out and styling?

Absolutely! Never tell a woman she can’t “purse-shoe” her dreams :) With my personal stylist roots I have you covered. Closet revamps, styling and more.

What is accountability coaching & strategic consulting

Sometimes what people need most isn't another tool or system, it's a trusted thought partner to help create clarity, momentum, and follow-through.

Through personalized accountability coaching and strategic consulting, I work alongside clients to streamline priorities, manage personal and professional projects, and navigate decisions with confidence. Whether you're launching a business initiative, coordinating a move, managing a busy household, tackling an overwhelming to-do list, or simply trying to create more structure in your daily life, I provide practical guidance, organization, and ongoing support.

Together, we break large goals into manageable action steps, establish realistic timelines, identify obstacles, and create systems that keep projects moving forward. As both an accountability partner and strategic sounding board, I help clients stay focused, organized, and aligned with what matters most.

The result is greater clarity, reduced overwhelm, and meaningful progress both in business and in life.

Can you give me an overall price and/or time estimate?

OC charges an hourly rate of CI$125 for all services. An initial assessment allows me to understand your space and align with you on the project scope. Initial working sessions average four hours to see results. As every space and client is unique, I remain flexible and adapt quickly as your needs evolve. For clients who would like to be present or hands on, I suggest a 3 Step Approach.

Can you explain the 3 Step Approach?

For clients who prefer a collaborative approach to decision-making, I recommend a simple three-step process:

Step 1 – Plan: In depth review of your space, establish priorities, and create a customized action plan. (est. 1-2HR)
Between Sessions: You'll have time to make decisions on what to keep, donate, or discard at your own pace.
Step 2 – Organize: We'll work together to declutter, categorize, and establish functional systems based on the plan we've created. Any outstanding measurements or product recommendations will be finalized during this stage. (est. 4-6HR)
Step 3 – Install & Refine: Source and install storage solutions, then complete the space with final adjustments. (est. 4HR)

This phased approach creates lasting systems while allowing you the time and flexibility to make confident decisions throughout the process. Please note that project timelines vary based on the size of the space, scope of work, and individual needs. The hours provided are average estimates and may be adjusted as the project progresses.

What else can you help with?

While I design organization solutions that are intuitive for clients to sustain, some clients like to have a refresh or someone to take charge once in a while when needs change. This can include everything from a simple tidying (great for kids rooms), staging for a holiday, seasonal closet maintenance, to preparing for a new baby or an at home soiree! Contact me if you have something in mind.

What do I do with all my donations?

Most people don’t want to spend time researching where to donate their used possessions, so I can help with that. For a curated list of charities that accept clothing, kids toys, household items and more, you can click Donation Centers in the navigation tab. You are welcome to drop-off donations yourself, or I can do it for you.
